Mike Patten’s Passion Project Featured in Edible Berkshires: The Story Behind Woodlife
Mike Patten’s vision for Woodlife Ranch began in the mid-1990s, when he purchased a run-down home built around the frame of an antique barn with 60 acres of land. Over time, he rebuilt, expanded, and added neighboring parcels until it grew into what it is today: a private residence and family-owned farm producing farm-to-table food and forest products using environmentally responsible practices.
That same vision inspired Woodlife Farm Market, established to share the Ranch’s harvest and spirit of sustainability with the community. Patrons can eat fresh and shop local while enjoying chef-crafted meals, a full deli, meat and fish counters, and seasonal events. The market carries forward the Ranch’s philosophy of being one with the land and nature.
